What does treatment involve?
We will carry out a thorough assessment with you and establish the cause of your problem. He/she will then develop a programme which is specific to you and your underlying condition.
Your assessment will also include psychological, emotional, and social factors as these play an important part of your overall wellbeing. Often any imbalances in these factors could play a role in your pain, discomfort or dysfunction.
We will work with you, using hands-on manual techniques to treat your problems which often occur in the joints and soft tissues, such as: muscles, tendons, ligaments and the tissue surrounding the organs and muscles and will ensure continual assessment and monitoring of your soft tissues and joint motion during your treatment, integrating a wide variety of advanced soft tissue and particular techniques to effect restoration of optimal pain free function. We can also use modalities such as trigger point dry needling and electro acupuncture.
Once we have identified the underlying cause of your pain and dysfunction, he or she will then work with you to restore you to full health. We will help you to prevent further problems through providing further interventions, habilitation and rehabilitation, if needed.
We can also develop an ongoing home care programme and/or a maintenance treatment schedule to suit your needs.
We will always provide you with sound advice and promote ways to help you avoid further injury.
Physical Therapy also involves the interaction between you and other health professionals (such as your GP) when and where this is needed.
Treatments can be provided in your own home.
Other services include the provision of pitch-side support, strapping and taping for sports teams. We also have access to cryotherapy.
